Positive Sales Development: State Printing House Impresses Within and Beyond National Borders

The Austrian State Printing House (OeSD) currently has full order books even outside the Austrian domestic market. As an internationally operating high-security and technology company, several major orders were successfully acquired abroad. The result of this targeted internationalisation strategy is encouraging: With the 2019/20 financial year ending in March, the company is set to report the highest foreign sales figures in its history of around EUR 20 million.

Austria is a strong base for international growth
„As a domestic company with centuries of history, Austria is our strong base from which we successfully grow across borders. Here and now, we can rejoice in the first fruits of our international commitment“, says Robert Schächter, Chairman of the Board of Management. Based on a preliminary assessment of the available company figures, consolidated sales of between EUR 62 and EUR 65 million are expected at the end of March.

Success in physical and digital identity
A decisive factor for the positive figures on the international market is not least the successful combination of analogue and digital business in Africa and Europe. In the case of physical ID documents, major orders from the African region in particular are contributing to this. As is usual for the high-security industry, discretion was agreed for the exact order details. In the field of digital solutions, the company will soon launch an eID app in Liechtenstein. This digital eID app was developed entirely by the company’s own software company youniqx Identity AG. „We successfully provide answers to the questions of national and international customers regarding analogue and digital identity. Our export rate of around 30% underlines this“, Schächter continues.

Employees share in the company’s success
Since the establishment of the employee foundation in 2012, OeSD employees have also been directly involved in the success of the OeSD Group. „This is a special concern for us and an additional recognition of the great achievements of all employees, without whom these successes would not be possible“, explains the Chairman of the Board.
